Zechariah Chapter 6 Star Chart: Clockwise from when Babylon fell in 539 B.C. (red moon in Sagittarius making two horse heads -- with an eagle holding the reigns) we add 208° years to get 331 B.C. when Medo-Persia fell (black eclipse in Cancer making two horse heads -- with a bear holding the reigns). Adding 300° years more, brings us to 31 B.C. when Ptolemaic Egypt fell (white moon in Taurus making two horse heads -- as well as a chariot wheel in Auriga -- with a leopard holding the reigns). Adding 506° years more brings us to 476 A.D. when Rome fell (reddish-brown moon in Libra making two horse heads -- with a dragon holding the reigns).

And I turned, and lifted up mine eyes, and looked, and, behold, there came four chariots (Auriga, etc.) out from between two mountains (Milky Way valley); and the mountains were mountains of brass (two kingdoms -- Israel and Judah). In the first chariot were red horses (War -- Nineveh was overthrown by Babylon; Chaldean bloodshed against the Jews); and in the second chariot black horses (famine -- Jer. 14:1-6; Lam. 5:9-10); And in the third chariot white horses (Alexander, the victorious conqueror who treated the Jews, and others, with humanity and kindness. The Talmud says that when Alexander the Great and his army advanced upon Jerusalem, they were met by a delegation of elders, led by the High Priest Shimon Ha Tzaddik (Simon the Righteous). When Alexander saw Shimon approaching, he dismounted and prostrated himself before the Jewish Sage. To his astonished men, Alexander explained that each time he went into battle, he would see a vision in the likeness of this High Priest leading the Greek troops to victory. In gratitude, and out of profound respect for the spiritual power of the Jews, Alexander was a kind and generous ruler. He canceled the Jewish taxes during Sabbatical years, and even offered animals to be sacrificed on his behalf in the Temple. Unfortunately, Alexander's heirs failed to sustain his benevolence.); and in the fourth chariot spotted and chestnut horses (destruction by disease, famine and war -- Ezekiel 14:21, Revelation 6:18). Two colors because some of the Caesars were cruel toward the Jews, and some of them showed more kindness.

Then I answered and said unto the angel that talked with me (Pollux talking to Castor -- Gemini), What are these, my lord? And the angel answered and said unto me, These are the four spirits of the heavens (or four winds which represent empires as in Daniel 7:2 or Psalm 148:8), which go forth from standing before the Lord of all the earth (Sagittarius). The black horses which are therein go forth into the north country to conquer Babylon (539 B.C.), represented by the red horses (see Jeremiah 1:13); and the white go forth after them to conquer Medo-Persia (in 331 B.C.); and the grisled go forth toward the south country (to conquer Ptolemaic Egypt in 31 B.C., the last Greek division that remained. See Daniel 11:5-6. This was the last country the Romans subdued, under Augustus, whereby they became masters of the greatest part of the known world). And the bay (chestnut) went forth, and sought to go that they might walk to and fro through the earth (Rome, triumphing first over Egypt, “the south country,” extends its victorious sway over all the earth -- or "land"), and he said, Get you hence, walk to and fro through the earth. So they walked to and fro through the earth. Then cried he (Pollux) upon me (Castor), and spake unto me, saying, Behold, these that go toward the north country have quieted my spirit in the north country." The Medes and Persians calmed him down by executing the judgments of God upon the Chaldeans, and by helping, favouring, and delivering the people of the Jews.

Jewish writers say, the red horses are the kingdom of Babylon, which shed much blood in Israel; this is the head of gold: the black horses, the kingdom of the Persians and Medes, like to a bear, who made black the faces of Israel, by the decrees of Haman: the white horses, the kingdom of Greece, who made white the faces of Israel by reproaches: the horses spotted and chestnut the fourth kingdom, which decreed various decrees, different from one another: and these four chariots went out from between two mountains, from between the kingdoms of Judah and Israel, which dwell between two countries, and they went out between them, and carried them captive; and these kingdoms are called mountains of brass, because unyielding as brass, and they hearkened not to the words of the prophets.

Four Chariots and Two Brass Mountains

Zechariah 6:1 says, "And I turned, and lifted up mine eyes, and looked, and, behold, there came four chariots (Auriga, etc. ) out from between two mountains (Milky Way valley); and the mountains were mountains of brass" (two kingdoms -- Israel and Judah; "two olive trees" -- Zech. 4:3).

2 In the first chariot were red horses (War -- Nineveh was overthrown by Babylon; Chaldean bloodshed against the Jews); and in the second chariot black horses (famine -- Jer. 14:1-6; Lam. 5:9-10);

3 And in the third chariot white horses (Alexander, the victorious conqueror, treated the Jews, and others, with humanity and kindness); and in the fourth chariot grisled and bay horses (destruction by disease, famine and war -- Ezekiel 14:21, Revelation 6:18). Two colors because some of the Caesars were cruel toward the Jews, and some of them showed more kindness.

4 Then I answered and said unto the angel that talked with me (Pollux talking to Castor -- Gemini), What are these, my lord?

5 And the angel answered and said unto me, These are the four spirits of the heavens (or four winds which represent empires as in Daniel 7:2 or Psalm 148:8), which go forth from standing before the Lord of all the earth (Sagittarius).

6 The black horses which are therein go forth into the north country to conquer Babylon (539 B.C.), represented by the red horses (see Jeremiah 1:13); and the white go forth after them to conquer Medo-Persia (in 331 B.C.); and the grisled go forth toward the south country (to conquer Ptolemaic Egypt in 31 B.C., the last Greek division that remained. See Daniel 11:6. This was the last country the Romans subdued, under Augustus, whereby they became masters of the greatest part of the known world. The Romans under Julius Caesar, Augustus, and others before them, who went into Egypt, which lay south of Judea, Daniel 11:5 and conquered that, and other nations, and set up the fourth kingdom or monarchy.).

7 And the bay went forth, and sought to go that they might walk to and fro through the earth (Rome, triumphing first over Egypt, “the south country,” extends its victorious sway over all the earth -- not "earth," but "land," and understand a commission to patrol the land of Israel. ): and he said, Get you hence, walk to and fro through the earth. So they walked to and fro through the earth.

8 Then cried he (Pollux) upon me (Castor), and spake unto me, saying, Behold, these that go toward the north country have quieted my spirit in the north country." The Medes and Persians have quieted my spirit in the north country; by executing the judgments of God upon the Chaldeans, and by helping, favouring, and delivering the people of the Jews.

Jewish writers say, the red horses are the kingdom of Babylon, which shed much blood in Israel; this is the head of gold: the black horses, the kingdom of the Persians and Medes, like to a bear, who made black the faces of Israel, by the decrees of Haman: the white horses, the kingdom of Greece, who made white the faces of Israel by reproaches: the horses grisled and bay the fourth kingdom, which decreed various decrees, different from one another: and these four chariots went out from between two mountains, from between the kingdoms of Judah and Israel, which dwell between two countries, and they went out between them, and carried them captive; and these kingdoms are called mountains of brass, because unyielding as brass, and hearkened not to the words of the prophets.

9 And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

10 Take of them of the captivity, even of Heldai, of Tobijah, and of Jedaiah, which are come from Babylon, and come thou the same day, and go into the house of Josiah the son of Zephaniah;

11 Then take silver and gold, and make crowns, and set them upon the head of Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest;

12And speak unto him, saying, Thus speaketh the LORD of hosts, saying, Behold the man whose name is The BRANCH; and he shall grow up out of his place,

13 and he shall build the temple of the LORD: Even he shall build the temple of the LORD; and he shall bear the glory, and shall sit and rule upon his throne; and he shall be a priest upon his throne: and the counsel of peace shall be between them both.

14 And the crowns shall be to Helem, and to Tobijah, and to Jedaiah, and to Hen the son of Zephaniah, for a memorial in the temple of the LORD.

15 And they that are far off shall come and build in the temple of the LORD, and ye shall know that the LORD of hosts hath sent me unto you. And this shall come to pass, if ye will diligently obey the voice of the LORD your God.
